Check System Requirements

Make sure your system has adequate hardware to run Sims 4. Intel Core 2 Duo processor/ Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor; a graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce/ AMD Radeon), 2 GB of RAM, Microsoft DirectX 9 that supports your graphics card, and at least 10 GB of free space.

Rename Saves

Go to the Documents folder in the User’s library. There you find a file named [Saves]. You can find this file in the ..Electronic ArtsSims 4 location. Rename that file with some different name, and then re-create a new file with the original name.

Remove Household Items

Load the game with the [save] that crashes. Pause the game in middle by pressing Escape (Esc). You shall see a Menu. Select the options named Manage Worlds | Manage Households (basically it’s a family icon with a pencil) | Unplayed Households | Not in this world. Remove each and every household item, especially the unfamiliar ones.

Disable Post Processing Effects

Go to the Game Options page using three dots (…) in the top right corner of your screen, and then disable Post Processing Effects feature from the Graphics tab.

From the same Graphics tab, set medium settings and save the changes.

Enable Laptop Mode

In the same Graphics tab there is a check box for Laptop Mode feature. Make sure it is checked.

Turn Off Uncompressed Sims Texture

Disable Uncompressed Sims Texture from the game options.

Using Display Settings from the Desktop’s context menu, set a supporting screen resolution from Display > Advanced display settings.

Go offline from the Origin Menu after opening the Origin Client, and then connect to the Origin servers once again (normal mode).

Issues with Child Account

If you’ve specified the age below 14, perhaps your account is setup with restricted online gaming features, called as, Child Account. You need an account with full access permissions.

Use Windowed Mode

If you’re running Sims 4 in fullscreen mode, restart it with windowed mode by adding “-w” at the end of the Target file path text. Do not remove/ alter existing path from the Shortcut tab.

Remember, the actual path may vary.
