Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing Software Program

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing is a software program that teaches touch typing. Mavis Beacon is published by Encore Software (Mac and Windows) and Software MacKiev (Mac OSX). Early versions supported both QWERTY and the alternative Dvorak Simplified Keyboard layout but later versions only taught QWERTY keyboarding until the 2011 Ultimate Mac Edition from Software MacKiev which returned full Dvorak typing lessons. The current Windows/ Mac versions are published under the Brøderbund brand by Encore and Software MacKiev.
The Mavis Beacon software includes speed tests which keep a record of your words-per-minute typing speed. It also has a number of games to make it more fun to use and to practice various typing skills.
